Marry Now, Party Later
MAKE YOUR LOVE OFFICIAL WHEN LOCKDOWN IS LIFTED
One of the many things Covid-19 seemed to destroy this year is the majority of wedding plans! Couples across the country are coming to terms with the reality that their big day will no longer be going ahead on it’s original date, if you find yourself in this position don’t cancel your wedding day, there are options! The most obvious option is to reschedule, perhaps to 2021, but for those of you that cannot wait that long to marry your lover I have an even better idea - Split the ceremony part from the reception, marry now and party later!
Imagine still getting to make your vows to one another this year, imagine doing it in an incredible or meaningful place to you both. Show Coronavirus it is no match for your love and marry one another on a beautiful mountain or alongside a stunning lake. Just the two of you, a celebrant, someone to capture your day and maybe an incredible planner and stylist - Like me! The most perfect, meaningful and romantic way to wed and something so needed right now in our crazy world.
Intimate weddings and elopements are most definitely set to be the next biggest wedding craze thanks to the recent pandemic. It may not be what you had in mind but here are some reasons why you should seriously consider it.
safety first
Intimate weddings and elopements are currently the safest option for the short term future, given the low number of guests in attendance. With the longevity of social distancing rules and long-term impact of Coronavirus being unknown at this moment in time, it is a sensible option to consider. Being outdoors in the open, with the ability for suppliers to social distance it appears likely to be the first type of ceremony to get the go ahead once lockdown is lifted.
NO FAMILY POLITICS
Struggling with the table plan and worrying about upsetting a cousin you haven’t seen for 10 years or Aunt Hilda? Forget family politics and spend your day alongside the one you love the most, taking in every moment without any distractions.
PARTY LATER
Once the pandemic is over everyone is going to need a drink, or two and can you imagine the celebration? Plan your party at a later date with every single one of your friends and family by your side, at a time when you can dance, hug and kiss the night away with no pressure on when that will be!
CONSIDER SCOTLAND
Aside from the jaw dropping locations and incredible potential backdrops to your photos, Scotland may just be the perfect elopement location. You might be surprised to hear that in Scotland you can marry outside, pretty much anywhere, legally! Unlike the rest of the UK where the official ceremony needs to be conducted in a licensed venue, building or structure in Scotland all you need is your celebrant, photographer and the great outdoors for a completely legal marriage.
PERHAPS A MICRO WEDDING
Between 20 - 50 guests, somewhere between an elopement and a big white wedding. This was already a growing trend before Coronavirus hit, as some couples began to realise the only way to afford that Pinterest perfect day was to slash the guest list. Many couples planning a wedding now, may choose to follow this route, alongside only nearest and dearest as opposed to their 200+ guestlist.
Ask yourself what do you really want from your wedding day? The most popular answer is, of course, to be married to the love of your life! Choose to embrace today’s world, live in the moment and be grateful for your love of one another. Get married once lockdown is lifted, your party can come at a later date and boy, what a party it will be!
